Union County Munch Madness Savory 16 | Monroe

MONROE – Monroe restaurants Hathaway’s Fried Chicken, Pepperoni’s Pizza, Franklin Court Grille and Main Street Bistro are still in the running for Union County Weekly’s Munch Madness. 

Hathaway’s Fried Chicken and Pepperoni’s Pizza reached the Savory 16 last year while Franklin Court Grille and Main Street Bistro are here for the first time. Hathaway’s Fried Chicken has reached this round three times since 2019. 

Readers can pick their two favorite restaurants to advance to the next round of the bracket challenge from Thursday, March 28, to Monday, April 1, at thecharlotteweekly.com.

 

Hathaway’s Fried Chicken vs. Main Street Bistro

No. 1 Hathaway’s Fried Chicken will square off against No 12 Main Street Bistro in the third round.

Hathaway’s Fried Chicken offers combos in which chicken lovers can load up on plenty of pieces, biscuits or other Southern sides, not to mention wings. It defeated No. 16 The Country Grill in the first round and No. 8 Oasis Sandwich Shop in the second round. Hathaway’s Fried Chicken, is located at 1310 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe.

Main Street Bistro, which opened in August 2021 in downtown Monroe, has recently prepared Roasted Red Pepper and Spnach Penne Alfredo , New York Strip Steak and Pestro Cheeseburger as specials. It defeated No. 5 Quincy’s in the first round and No. 4 East Frank Superette in the second round. Main Street Bistro is located at 109 S. Main St., Monroe.

 

Pepperoni’s Pizza vs. Franklin Court Grille

No. 6 Pepperoni’s Pizza will square off against  No. 7 Franklin Court Grille in the third round.

Pepperoni’s Pizza may be known as the “home of the 30-inch beast,” but you can order smaller pies, too, as well as wings, subs, pastas, calzones and desserts. It defeated No. 11 Southern Roots Bar and Grill in the first round and No. 14 Mac’s Fish & Chicken in the second round. Pepperoni’s Pizza is located at 6203 S. Rocky River Road, Monroe.

Franklin Court Grille provides an award-winning courtyard to enjoy scratch-made dishes and daily specials like the Prime Rib Philly and Pepper Jelly Pickled Onion Burger for lunch and the Teriyaki Beef Dinner. It defeated No. 10 Spiro’s Hilltop in the first round and No. 2 Carnitas Mexican Guanajuato in the second round. Franklin Court Grille is located at 232 E. Franklin St., Monroe.
