The Trail House wins Union County’s 2024 Munch Madness

The Trail House survived six rounds of voting to win 2024 Munch Madness.

INDIAN TRAIL – The Trail House won Union County Weekly’s 2024 Munch Madness challenge this week after defeating Mario’s Italian Restaurant in the championship round.

The challenge pits 64 of the most popular restaurants in Union County into a bracket with four regions: Indian Trail, Monroe, Stallings and Waxhaw. Readers vote for their favorite restaurants in six weeks worth of matches at thecharlotteweekly.com

The Trail House won the Indian Trail region with victories over No. 1 Mia Famiglia Pizzeria in the Edible 8, No. 14 Chokh Di Noodle House in the Savory 16, No. 10 Sun Valley Cafe in the Thirsty 32 and No. 15 La Unica in the first round. The Trail House also defeated Monroe region champion Main Street Bistro to advance to the championship round. 

The Trail House joins a hall of Munch Madness champions that includes Maxwell’s Tavern (2023), Mia Famiglia Restaurant and Pizzeria (2021) and The Bridge Restaurant (2019 & 2020)

Located at 6751 Old Monroe Road, the neighborhood restaurant and bar’s 30 TVs attract sports fans while its stage lures several bands each month. Some of the bands recently booked to perform include Kids in America, Queen City Siren, Static Pool and Smokin' Gunn. Big Pop Trivia also hosts Music Bingo on Thursday nights.

The menu offers plenty of pub grub favorites, including wings, nachos, tacos and sliders. 

Some of the other items on the menu include: 

• Key West Grilled Chicken: Chicken with Key West seasoning, cilantro lime rice and grilled zucchini.

• Chicken Pot Pie: Creamy chicken and vegetables topped with a buttery crust in an iron skillet.

• Trail House Pasta: Blackened chicken, roasted vegetables and Cajun cream sauce.

• Chipotle Honey Pepperoni Flatbread: Pepperoni, bacon, red onions, mozzarella and chipotle honey.

• California Burger: Turkey patty topped with spinach, guacamole, red peppers, red onions and chipotle aioli.
