2024 Union County Munch Madness Edible 8 | Voting

Bisonte Pizza, Emmet’s Social Table, Franklin Court Grille, Main Street Bistro, Mario’s Italian Restaurant, Mary O’Neill’s Irish Pub, Mia Famiglia Pizzeria and The Trail House have reached the Edible 8 of Union County Weekly’s Munch Madness. 

These restaurants survived their third week of voting in matchups on thecharlotteweekly.com. Fourth-round voting will span from Thursday, April 4, and closes Monday, April 8. See the ballot below.

 

Indian Trail: Mia Famiglia Pizzeria vs. The Trail House

No. 1 Mia Famiglia Pizzeria goes against No. 2 The Trail House in the Indian Trail regional championship. 

Mia Famiglia Pizzeria beat No. 5 The Bridge Restaurant in the Savory 16, No. 9 Flav’s Coffee & Italian Market in the Thirsty 32 and No. 16 Johnny K’s Restaurant in the first round. The New York-style pizzeria, located at 7870 Idlewild Road, reached the Edible 8 in 2023 and 2021. It won Munch Madness in 2021.

No. 2 The Trail House held off No. 14 Chokh Di Noodle House in the Savory 16, No. 10 Sun Valley Cafe in the Thirsty 32 and No. 15 La Unica in the opening round. The bar, located at 6751 Old Monroe Road, made the Edible 8 in 2020 and 2019. 

 

Monroe: Franklin Court Grille vs. Main Street Bistro 

No. 7 Franklin Court Grille will battle No 12 Main Street Bistro in the fourth round to represent Monroe in the Final Fork.

Franklin Court Grille was victorious against No. 6 Pepperoni’s Pizza in the Savory 16, No. 2 Carnitas Mexican Guanajuato in the Thirsty 32 and No. 10 Spiro’s Hilltop in the first round. The grill, located at 232 E. Franklin St., is making its Edible 8 debut.

Main Street Bistro powered through matches with No. 1 Hathaway’s Fried Chicken in the Savory 16, No. 4 East Frank Superette in the Thirsty 32 and No. 5 Quincy’s in the first round. The bistro, located at 109 S. Main St., has never advanced this far into the tournament. 

 

 

Stallings: Bisonte Pizza vs. Mario’s Italian Restaurant 

No. 1 Bisonte Pizza meets No. 7 Mario’s Italian Restaurant in the Stallings regional final. 

Bisonte Pizza defeated No. 5 Stallings Rockstore in the Savory 16, No. 8 Fresh Chef Restaurant in the Thirsty 32 and No. 16 Curry Place in the first round. The Buffalo and New York-style pizza place, located at 1381 Chestnut Lane, advanced to the Edible 8 last year.

Mario’s Italian Restaurant took wins from No. 3 Moochies Tavern in the Savory 16, No. 15 Mama’s Italian Restaurant & Bar in the Thirsty 32 and No. 10 Phat Daddy’s Cafe in the first round. The Italian restaurant, located at 2945 Matthews-Weddington Road, has reached the Edible 8 for the first time. 

 

Waxhaw: Emmet’s Social Table vs. Mary O’Neill’s Irish Pub

No. 3 Emmet’s Social Table takes on No. 4  Mary O’Neill’s Irish Pub for the Waxhaw regional title. 

Emmet’s Social Table defeated No. 2 Provisions Waxhaw in the Savory 16, No. 6 Stacks Kitchen in the Thirsty 32 and No. 14 Ice Cream and Pizza Works in the opening round. The small-plate concept, located at 401 E. South Main St., made the Edible 8 in 2020 and 2019.

Mary O’Neill’s Irish Pub won over No. 1 Maxwell’s Tavern in the Savory 16, No. 12 Capricci's True Italian in the Thirsty 32 and No. 13 Rosati’s Pizza in the first round. The Irish pub, located at 116 W. North Main St., made the Edibe 8 last year.
