When the Monroe Bypass comes through, Stallings is going to be hurting for commercial dollars. There’s no argument.
But does it make sense for the town to suddenly become a developer, purchasing land to later lease out? We fight over thousands of dollars for a park plan, but people jump up and down over the idea of spending millions on a piece of property. If the idea is so great, why doesn’t National Amateur Sports put a group together to buy the land? Why lease, unless they were expecting the location to be a temporary fix?
