Union County candidates reach out one last time

Planning for future growth, economic development and maintaining the community residents know and love will be at the forefront of elections this year as voters make their way to the polls on Nov. 5

Union County Weekly wanted to give people one last look at candidates in Indian Trail, Marvin, Stallings, Waxhaw, Weddington and Wesley Chapel before they decide who is the best to represent their community.  Three towns – Marvin, Stallings and Weddington – will have new mayors after Election Day, with no incumbents running for re-election.  Each town board will at least see some new members.  Not all incumbents have decided to seek re-election.

Western Union County towns could see 19 new members on the local town boards, which could effect inter-local agreements and partnerships between towns, such as the Monroe-Union County Economic Development group and the Alliance of South Charlotte Communities.

People can find more information about their ballot and polling locations at http://co.union.nc.us/Government/BoardofElections.aspx.
