Polivka hearing is Tuesday

WEDDINGTON – People are invited to a public hearing Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Weddington Town Hall, 1924 Weddington Road, for the rezoning application dealing with the parcel of land located at 13700 Providence Road.

The public hearing for the Polivka Mixed Use Conditional Zoning Rezoning Application will discuss plans for the 15,000 square foot office building.  Town Planner Jordan Cook will give a presentation with the planning staff analysis and the developer, Polivka International, will give its presentation.  At the end of presentations, Weddington citizens will have a chance to voice their concerns.

Town council can vote on the application during the meeting, but if they have not yet come to a decision they can push the decision date back to a later meeting.

“They should vote on Tuesday night; our ordinance gives our council the ability to delay the vote or send it back to the planning board,” Cook said.

John Temple, with Polivka International, had no comment in relation to the rezoning application or the meeting next week when contacted by Union County Weekly.
