Crime spree hits 14 cars in Marvin

MARVIN – At least 14 vehicles were broken into on Monday, Oct. 1, in Marvin.

Crime reports released by the Union County Sheriff’s Office show most of the break-ins occurred overnight in the 3600 and 3700 block of Banyan Way. Break-ins also were reported on nearby Laurelwood Lane, where three vehicles were broken into; and on Sandalwood Drive, where one car was broken into. The rest were hit on Banyan Way.

In all, $4,190 in items were stolen, including jewelry, cash, two iPods, an iPad and two GPS units. All the vehicles were unlocked, and officials with the sheriff’s office think the suspect or suspects likely just walked down the street checking for unlocked vehicles to steal from.
