First Baptist Indian Trail to begin Fall Life Track
INDIAN TRAIL – On Wednesdays starting Sept. 5, First Baptist Church Indian Trail will be hosting its Fall Life Track classes from 6:15 to 8 p.m.
Join the church for classes that dig deeper into God’s word in various areas of a believer’s life.

Stallings UMC to celebrate homecoming
STALLINGS – On Sept. 23, a Sunday, Stallings United Methodist Church will celebrate homecoming.
The Rev. Dr. Stephen W. Pillsbury will be the guest minister. Services will be combined in the sanctuary and will begin at 10:55 a.m. Former members, friends, neighbors and relatives are invited to attend. A covered dish lunch will be held in the fellowship building after the worship service.

Matthews UMC to host ‘Awestruck’ event
MATTHEWS – Matthews United Methodist Church will host an evening of extended praise and worship on Sept. 15, a Saturday, starting at 7 p.m. in the church’s sanctuary.
This event gives Christians the opportunity to worship in a “fresh, new way” through music, meditation, creativity and prayer. Those attending will have the opportunity to pause from the busyness of their everyday lives and reflect on their faith and how God wants to speak to them.

WEDDINGTON – Weddington United Methodist Church will be starting a 13-week Divorce Care course on Sept. 19, a Wednesday, at 7 p.m. in the church’s sanctuary building.

Free family outdoor movie night
WEDDINGTON – Bethany Church of Weddington will host a free family movie night on Sept. 22, a Saturday, outside the church.
The church will show the family-friendly film “The Incredibles.” The grounds open at 7:30 p.m. and the movie begins at 8. Concessions will be for sale, and a special surprise “hero” will show up as the costumed guest of the evening. The event will take place rain or shine; the movie will be moved indoors if necessary. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a family night out.

Central UMC presents the Walking By Faith 4 Life Seminar
MONROE – Beginning Sept. 9, a Sunday, Central United Methodist Church in Monroe will offer the Walking By Faith 4 Life Seminar. Classes will be on Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church.
The Rev. R. Frank Bowers, founder of Walking By Faith 4 Life Ministries, will teach the classes. The seminar is an approximately 16-week, in-depth, nondenominational Bible study which teaches step-by-step instructions on how to develop and use your faith to overcome obstacles and triumph over trials, such as crises, economic hardships and simply being “sick and tired.” Past students refer to this seminar as a “Holy Ghost boot camp.”
“This seminar is open to anyone, regardless of your denomination, spiritual background, race, economic status, gender or sexual orientation,” Bowers said in a news release. “The only requirement is that you want change in your life and you want to know God and His Word in a greater, more dynamic way.”
Reservations for this seminar are required. The cost per person is $25, which covers the cost for materials as well as the “Walking by Faith 4 Life” book and study guide – both of which are required for the seminar. First communion classes at St. Margaret’s
WAXHAW – St. Margaret’s Episcopal church will hold a series of first communion classes for the fall season on Wednesdays, Sept. 12, 19 and 26, from 4 to 4:45 p.m. in the church nave. Children ages 6 and up wishing to participate in First Communion Day at the 9 a.m. service on Sept. 30 must attend these classes with their parents.
