Intersection changes coming at Stallings and Stevens Mill roads

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is changing the intersection of Stallings and Stevens Mill roads to a four-way stop soon.

The conversion is scheduled for Aug. 1, weather permitting. Currently, traffic on Stevens Mill Road is required to stop while traffic on Stallings Road can travel through without stopping. State transportation officials hope the change improves safety and minimizes delays on the two streets.

Message boards will go up at the intersection prior to work starting.
