County still providing animal control to Monroe

County commissioners recently agreed to extend the contract with Monroe for animal control services.

The county’s animal control has been providing the services for Monroe, which includes sheltering animals, doing rabies testing and providing euthanasia. They’ll continue to do so under the new five-year contract, with Monroe paying the county $26,000 a year.
