MARVIN — The town is creating a new Traffic Calming Advisory Committee to investigate traffic calming strategies within the town. The town is seeking residents who are willing to actively participate in approximately five meetings. By serving on the committee, residents will have the opportunity to guide the village’s traffic program as well as promote and advocate the importance of traffic calming, road issue awareness, exploration and planning. The new committee is tentatively scheduled to meet the third Thursday of each month, between 9 a.m. and noon from August to December. The first meeting is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 21 at Marvin Village Hall, 10004 New Town Road.
The committee chair will select five at-large Marvin residents for the committee who will serve alongside professional consultants, NCDOT representatives, sheriff’s deputies, fire and EMS agents.
Applications must be submitted to the clerk by July 14 by emailing email@example.com. For more information, call 704-843-1680.
