A moving experience

Posts in the ground honored fallen Union County soldiers, telling the location of their names on the Wall and their burial sites; Families and friends etched the names of fallen solders on a special memorial slip provided at the Wall. Special crayons were lent for etching at the site; The Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall, a smaller traveling replica of the stationary memorial in Washington, D.C., stretched across the campus of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2423 in Indian Trail from 2 p.m. Thursday, June 14, to 2 p.m. Monday, June 18. The Wall bears the name of more than 58,000 men and women who died while serving with the U.S. armed forces during the Vietnam War.
