Stallings kids show up big for JDRF

All it took was two weeks for students at Stallings Elementary School to raise nearly $7,000 to help the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Students encouraged each other to donate to the cause of finding a cure for juvenile diabetes by holding a pep rally and hanging up paper sneakers – the foundation’s logo – on walls around the campus.

For its efforts, the school was honored with the School Rookie of the Year and Second Place School award. Stallings Elementary raised $6,732.81 during the two weeks.
