State leaders to again meet with Union parents

INDIAN TRAIL – N.C. Sen. Tommy Tucker and N.C. Rep. Craig Horn will meet with parents April 18 to discuss proposed state budget cuts to Union County schools’ funding.

Both state officials spoke at a meeting in Monroe March 28, hearing concerns from teachers and parents about cuts in the classroom and what impact that will have on students. The April 18 meeting, starting at 6:30 p.m., is a chance for parents in the Porter Ridge cluster around Indian Trail to get their voices heard by legislators.

Porter Ridge High is at 2839 Ridge Road.
