Deputy Kennedy named School Resource Officer of the Year

BUFORD – Deputy Jim Kennedy, the school resource officer at Parkwood High School, was recently named the Union County Public School 2012 School Resource Officer of the Year.

Six officers were nominated for the award, and a team of judges narrowed down the selections. Other officers nominated were Deputy Chad Evans, of South Providence School; Deputy A.J. Wallace, of Sun Valley High School; Officer Monique Holt, of Monroe Middle School; Officer Willie Kilgo, of Monroe Middle School; and Officer Shawn Parler, of the Central Academy of Technology and Arts.

Kennedy goes on to compete for the North Carolina School Resource Officer of the Year title this summer.
