WAXHAW – Cuthbertson High School sophomore Katie Brock recently teamed up with students from three local schools to help Heavensown Animal Rescue.

Katie collected donations of food, toys and other supplies for animals from students and staff at Cuthbertson High and New Town and Kensington elementary schools.

β€œThe dogs are loving them some new dog treats, and the canned food made them feel like they were at the Ritz Carlton,” said Donna Fowler, who runs the rescue with James Fowler, in a news release.

The rescue saves and cares for animals in Waxhaw. It needs donations of pet supplies and money, as well as volunteers. For more information about the shelter, visit www.heavensownrescue.com.
