Students from local schools, including Poplin and Wesley Chapel elementariness, will compete soon in a ball-handling skills competition at Wingate University.

The students have been training in a 20-week physical education program aimed at building character through physical activity. The goal of the competition is to teach students to be responsible for who they become in the future.

The competition, scheduled for Sunday, March 25, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., will test students in four categories: team competition, individual competition, an essay contest and a banner contest. The event is free to attend.
